Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care
Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialty experience required.
License: Must have valid state license in hand prior to start date.
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and BSN preferred. Must-Have: -
Two years of specialty experience required - One prior travel
assignment - Experience with telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and
interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Proficiency in
starting IVs and using high flow nasal cannula Description: The
unit provides care for a diverse medical-surgical population with
various diagnoses. It is designated for thoracic surgery and
averages about 5-10 cases per week. Patients typically include
those with GI bleeds, pneumonia, liver failure, and CHF
exacerbations. The unit accepts all thoracic surgery patients, Le
Fort patients, and AAA repair patients. The facility is a
short-term acute care teaching hospital. The total number of
staffed beds is 402. Scrubs of any color without other hospital
logos are acceptable. Charting is done using Cerner. All travelers
must be willing to accept assignments that include COVID-19
patients. Weekend coverage includes every other weekend. The
