Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring for a Licensed
Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Emergency Department! Sentara Northern
Virginia Medical Center - Woodbridge, VA Licensed Practical Nurse -
Emergency Department ~Full Time and Swing Shift~ Monday-Thursday,
12:00pm-10:00pm 40 hours/week The Emergency Department is seeking a
LPN to work in the focused care side of the ED (not acute care).
Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions under the
supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in
the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the
State Boards of Nursing. The LPN demonstrates professional and
clinical knowledge relative to designated clinical practice setting
in the delivery of direct patient care, adhering to the level of
verified competency dictated by the site specific program. The LPN
works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and
communicate effectively with other licensed independent
practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA) in collaboration while providing
care and treatment for patients, clinical support and teaching for
patient and family members, and adheres to the legal and ethical
standards of nursing practice. LPN manages responsibilities of
workload with accuracy, provides excellence in customer service,
performs testing, medication administration and the implementation
of nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic
approach to patient care. The LPN serves as patient advocate in the
prevention of illness or disease. The work of the LPN may be
performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities,
outpatient clinics, or private homes. Basic Life Support (BLS)
within 90 days of hire. A valid LPN license in state(s) of practice
is required. Education - TS- Trade School Graduate - Licensed
Practical Nurse Certification/Licensure - Virginia LPN license
Experience - Previous LPN experience (preferred) Sentara Northern
Virginia Medical Center's Emergency Department is a 37-bed facility
that sees a wide range of acute and emergent diagnoses. Recently
designated as a Level III Trauma Center, we see a multitude of
