Doctor of Medicine | Cardiology - General/Other Location: Richmond, VA Employer: Wellhart, LLC Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 60 Days Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certified Cardiologist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting Jan 5, 2026. This role offers day shifts Monday through Friday with weekend and night call on a rotating basis. The assignment is focused on advanced heart failure and does not require invasive procedures. Job Details Location: Virginia Start Date: Jan 5, 2026 LOA: 60 days Provider Type Needed: Cardiologist Schedule: Day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts; rotating weekend and night call; 1:6 call ratio Responsibilities and Duties Manage patients with advanced heart failure, including those with ventricular assist devices Perform and interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) Participate in rotating call coverage for nights and weekends Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care Maintain accurate and timely medical records, adhering to institutional protocols Additional Information Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required AHF Fellowship with LVAD experience required DEA and active Virginia medical license required Board certification in Cardiology required Provider must be local; only mileage is reimbursed Temporary privileges available for candidates with a clean background Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
