ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Richmond, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work in Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) with 18 beds and 4:1 patient ratios • Day shift staffing: 5 RN, 1 CC, and 2 PCT (ideal) • Night shift staffing: 5 nurses and 1 PCT • Work with equipment including central lines, PCA, foley catheters, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, and drains • Use Meditech EMR system • Must be able to read cardiac monitors and administer narcotics • Perform vital signs and assessments every 4 hours • Complete rhythm interpretation every 4 hours • Handle typical procedures: CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, Mitral clip, thoracotomy, Afib, CHF, MI • Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, and nitroglycerin • Float to telemetry and medical surgical units as needed • Work every other weekend with overtime opportunities available • Stepdown experience and cardiac knowledge preferred • Must be a team player with critical thinking skills and compassionate nature • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS • Dress code: All navy scrubs Facility: This healthcare facility operates a specialized 18-bed Cardiac Stepdown Unit on the 4th floor, providing comprehensive cardiac care for patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment.
