working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in
Washington, Washington DC, 20007! Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration:
13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum
of 1 year of prior travel experience License: RN License required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Successful completion
of the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score
of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Description: The
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Unit cares for adult patients with
complex medical diagnoses. Staff are committed to providing
comprehensive care through collaboration with the multidisciplinary
team. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 or 1:6. The unit requires
nurses to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Weekend
requirements include every other weekend, with a total of 6 weekend
shifts per contract. Candidates must demonstrate skills in
telemetry, cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias,
feeding tube care, and IV therapy. Preferred skills include charge
nurse experience and familiarity with the Cerner charting system.
Nurses will engage in caring for various patient diagnoses such as
pneumonia, respiratory conditions, CHF, and neurological
conditions, among others. Special attention must be given to
patients requiring isolation precautions. Candidates should be
prepared to cite experiences related to managing dysrhythmias and
other critical care practices. All staff are required to comply
with vaccination protocols. Candidates should expect to manage a
variety of patient needs, including IV care, telemetry monitoring,
and adherence to protocols for various medical interventions. 5
