experienced PACU nurses with 2 years’ PACU experience and an active

Job Details - Location: Washington, DC (Zip: 20010) — Washington,
DC travel nurse, DC nursing jobs - Assignment Length: 13 weeks -
Start Date: April 13, 2026 - End Date: July 13, 2026 - Shift: Day
shifts, 4x10-hour (varied start times: 6:00–18:30, 9:00–21:30, and
others) - Hours per Week: 40 - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990–$2100
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics - Unit: Third
Floor PACU (11 rooms, daily census ~40) — Post-Anesthesia Care Unit
RN role - No on-call or weekend shifts required - Floating: May
float to main OR (perioperative/operating room support) if needed
Job Requirements / Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of recent PACU
experience; clinical skills in post-op monitoring, administration
of blood products, infection control, specimen handling/labeling,
and standard PACU procedures - Active DC RN license required
(pending DC license accepted with proof at submission; must have
license in hand before start) - BLS and ACLS certifications
required - Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam
(minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms) - Flu vaccine
required (no exemptions) - Experience with Cerner charting system
preferred - Trauma Level I experience preferred — strong for
high-acuity PACU/trauma cases - Two supervisor references required
Core Responsibilities - Provide post-anesthesia and post-operative
care for patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures
(vascular, robotics, urology, oral maxillofacial, breast
oncology/plastics, GYN, uroGYN, podiatry, burn, ophthalmology,
general surgery) - Monitor and manage pain, vital signs,
respiratory status, and overall patient recovery in the PACU -
Administer blood products, manage infection control protocols, and
adhere to isolation precautions and PPE use - Recognize and manage
dysrhythmias and respond to rapid changes in patient condition and
emergencies; collaborate with rapid response teams - Handle, label,
and transport specimens according to unit and hospital standards -
Float to main OR as needed to support perioperative nursing and
operating room (OR) activities - Collaborate with interdisciplinary
teams including pharmacy, radiology, social services, lift teams,
and interpretation services to ensure safe, efficient patient care
