Software works with and is mentored by a group of engineers who
design and develop software solutions to meet customer
requirements. To qualify for an Engineering Internship, one must
currently be enrolled in one of our preferred majors; possess
curiosity and eagerness to learn; have strong foundational software
skills; and thrive in a team environment. Engineering Interns have
real responsibilities that impact actual products and help pave the
way on our development path. Your AeroVironment internship will
challenge you, stimulate you, and provide you with real-world
experience at one of the leading companies developing innovative
solutions at the intersection of robotic systems and artificial
intelligence. Position Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize software including application programs,
interfaces, database schemas, and/or user interface components
- Develop documentation, test procedures, technical reports, and
inputs for presentation to customers and other stakeholders
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to
determine appropriate actions
- Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (Required Skills
& Experience)
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program
pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
related area of study
- Experience with at least one object-oriented programming
language
- Familiarity with basic concepts in data structures, algorithms,
and software engineering Other Qualifications & Desired
Competencies
- Experience with Ubuntu and/or CentOS Linux operating
systems
- Experience with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL
or MySQL
- Familiarity with source code configuration management tools
such as Git
- Familiarity with one or more IDEs and debuggers
- UAV or Robotics experience
- General engineering fundamentals including mathematics,
physics, etc.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment,
where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and
communication skills Physical Demands

- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use
hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
(Constant) The salary range for this role is: $22 - $33
