Role Summary:

Key responsibilities include customizing and optimizing Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components to meet business needs. This role will handle data management, integrate Salesforce with external systems, and build custom applications. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with requirements and troubleshoot any issues. Additionally, the Salesforce Developer will document processes and third-party integrations with existing systems. This position will stay updated on Salesforce releases. Additionally, the Salesforce Developer will handle third-tier escalations for more complex issues, providing advanced support when needed.

This position reports to the Deputy Chief Information Officer but will work day-to-day under the guidance of an external Salesforce Architect.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or Salesforce Trailhead and certifications combined with development experience in classroom learning.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in Salesforce development with strong expertise in Visualforce, Flows, and Salesforce Lightning. Preference to experience with highly customized and integrated Salesforce instances. Preference also to experience using Salesforce APIs to integrate with other systems.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and other Salesforce development tools. Must have expert skills with Salesforce Person Accounts.
Certifications: Salesforce Platform Developer (I or II) certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities:

Under the general and administrative supervision of the Deputy Chief Information Officer, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Salesforce Developer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop and Customize: Create and modify Salesforce solutions, focusing on Visualforce pages, Lightning components, and Flows to meet business requirements.
Technical Collaboration: Work directly with an external Salesforce Architect consultant to translate technical specifications into development tasks. Also collaborate with the other members of the Salesforce team as needed.
Configuration & Integration: Configure Salesforce settings, develop workflows, and integrate third-party applications as required.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure robust and reliable functionality. Testing will include regression testing of a complex Salesforce environment.
Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation for configurations, code changes, and workflows to support system integrity and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
User Support: Work with the other Salesforce team members to provide escalated support for highly complex or technical user support issues.
Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest Salesforce updates and technologies and proactively recommend improvements.
Communication Skills: Show exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
Organizational Skills: Maintain strong organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Adaptability & Innovation: Be a quick learner who continuously seeks new knowledge and is able to apply innovative ideas and solutions.
