requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI
level with CI polygraph. Vantor is seeking a Production & Data
Sustainment Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of production
applications and databases, including GIS systems, manage data
pipelines, and maintain data standards across systems. The ideal
candidate brings expertise in database management, application
sustainment, GIS data handling, and operational support in medium
to large enterprise environments, with the ability to adapt to
evolving business and technical priorities. This project supports a
hard and deeply buried target mission set, providing critical
analytic insights to government stakeholders. Success depends on
the ability to sustain critical production systems, uphold data and
GIS standards, and anticipate operational or security risks.
Success also requires strong communication and adaptability as
organizational needs and technical roadmaps evolve. The work
directly impacts national security objectives by transforming
complex data into actionable intelligence in a highly specialized
and sensitive domain. Responsibilities: This position is full time
onsite in Reston, VA. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot
production applications and databases, including ESRI GIS portals
and other enterprise systems. Support data integration and
pipelines, ensuring accurate and consistent flow of information
between systems. Maintain data standards and schema consistency
across applications and databases, including geospatial datasets.
Provide technical expertise in application and database
sustainment, including schema management, performance tuning,
backup/recovery, and connectivity components. Collaborate with
development and operational teams to resolve technical issues and
align sustainment activities with evolving business priorities.
Identify and mitigate potential security and operational risks in
production applications. Develop and maintain technical
documentation, processes, and best practices for sustaining
applications, databases, and GIS systems Minimum Qualifications:
Current/active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing and able to
obtain CI polygraph. 6 years of professional experience in database
administration or related field. Bachelor's degree in Database
Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a
related field. Strong knowledge of RDBMS internals (e.g., SQL
Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and database administration best
practices. Experience with data integration, ETL pipelines, or
scripting (e.g., Python, Shell, Perl). Familiarity with GIS data
structures, ESRI ArcGIS portals, geodatabases, and backend
connectivity components. Strong troubleshooting skills in
high-volume production environments. Understanding of security,
compliance, and operational best practices for production
applications. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in computer
science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience
working in a classified or DoD environment. Experience with
cloud-based databases and applications (AWS, Azure, RDS, etc.).
Experience with KM systems, ontology development, or AI-based data
applications. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies in
production support or sustainment contexts. Strong communication
skills, able to interface with technical and non-technical
stakeholders. Additional GIS/Geospatial experience beyond ESRI,
including spatial data management and analysis, is a plus. Pay

starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and
is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not
limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills,
geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with
the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and
skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper
end of the pay range. ? The base pay for this position within the
Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $99,000.00 - $165,000.00
annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as
an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as
such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
