Job Description:
Description JOB SUMMARY This Senior Manager role will lead the
data science and governance foundation for the US & Canada
division’s AI and advanced analytics initiatives, supporting
generative AI and machine learning capabilities across Sales,
Marketing, and Revenue Management. The position will focus on
ensuring that all AI ? powered tools—including LLM ? driven
solutions, traditional machine learning models, and business ?
rule–based systems—are supported by robust, scalable data
pipelines, governance frameworks, and monitoring processes. The
Senior Manager will guide the end?to?end technical approach for AI
use cases, determining the optimal methodologies to balance cost,
complexity, efficiency, and business value. This role requires
hands?on expertise with data engineering and data science
technologies, including SQL, Python, ML frameworks, and experience
working with LLMs and retrieval?augmented generation (RAG)
patterns. The individual will collaborate closely with analytics
teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to
operationalize AI use cases, ensure ongoing model health, and
support Marriott’s continent?level AI strategy. CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience 2-year degree in Business Administration,
related major; 6 years of experience in relevant field. -OR- 4-year
bachelor’s degree in related quantitative discipline (finance,
operations, economics, statistics, mathematics), or related major;
6 years of experience in relevant field. Preferred Minimum 4 years
of progressive experience in analytics, data engineering, or
business intelligence, including hands-on work with SQL, Python,
Tableau, and Power BI. At least 2 years leading technical teams or
managing projects involving the recoding and migration of analytics
assets during technology transformations. Demonstrated experience
collaborating with business stakeholders and analytics teams to
translate requirements into actionable technical solutions. Proven
track record of automating reports and upgrading data visualization
tools in a complex enterprise environment. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Lead the development and management of data science and AI
solutions for the US & Canada division, supporting a range of
business functions. Guide the selection and implementation of
appropriate methodologies—LLMs, machine learning, automation, or
business rules—based on evolving business needs. Establish and
maintain data governance, quality, and privacy standards for AI and
analytics initiatives. Build and oversee scalable data pipelines
and model management processes to support AI-powered tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business
requirements into technical solutions and ensure successful
deployment. Monitor model performance, risks, and compliance,
adapting approaches as needed. Communicate technical concepts and
project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support team development through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
