Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites
applications for a Research Program Intern to join our Mid-Atlantic
Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI) department. This position is
a full-time, 40 hours per week, internship opportunity based out of
our regional office located in Washington, D.C . with a hybrid work
model. Please note, this position is ineligible for benefits. The

Group is comprised of more than 1,700 Permanente physicians and
nearly 300 staff professionals who come together to make a positive

Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Reporting to a
Research Program Supervisor, the Research Programs Intern will
support research programs and physician-led research initiatives
within the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute. This role
provides exposure to the structure and operations of the Kaiser
Permanente Mid-Atlantic States healthcare system while supporting
project management, research program coordination, and scientific
communications. You will assist research teams in evaluating
clinical programs, preparing scientific materials, and supporting
administrative and operational components of embedded research
activities within a clinical care delivery system. You can expect
to: Develop summaries and materials that support physician-led
research initiatives and program evaluations. Prepare scientific
and program materials, including research documentation, reports,
and manuscript drafts. Partner with research scientists, physician
researchers, communications specialists, and leadership to support
ongoing research activities. Provide support for research program
coordination, including tracking physician research requests and
assisting with study implementation activities. Lead or assist with
administrative and project management tasks related to research
programs and special initiatives. Oversee or support program
evaluation activities for clinical initiatives such as LGBTQ,
transplant, and genetics programs. Administer logistical and
operational support for Research Program activities, including
webinars, meetings, and research education events. What is
required: Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or
Master’s Degree program in Public Health, Health Sciences,
Pre-Medicine, or a related field; Recent college graduates are
ineligible for the internship program. Must be available to work
full-time, 40 hours a week, for a minimum of 12 weeks. Previous
experience in research administration, healthcare operations, or
project coordination is a plus. Specific project/work experience:
Interest or coursework related to healthcare delivery systems,
research administration, program evaluation, or clinical research
operations. Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and general
administrative or project management tools is preferred. Will be
expected to complete CITI Human Subjects Research certification.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to manage
multiple tasks, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced
environment. Must be able to commute to the Washington, D.C.
regional office as needed. Candidates must either currently live in
or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or
J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for
1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a
condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the
influenza vaccine as a condition of employment The starting hourly
rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which
considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees
and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant
